It's a big day for tour announcements. Shoegazing vanguard band from Ireland will appear this summer in their first North American Tour in five years.
One of the most influential and innovative alt-rock bands, My Bloody Valentine is known for various achievements ranging from numerous early EPs (10 in 5 years), dozens of record labels and countless recording studios replaced in search of the perfect sound, and ending with a 20-year silence after the release of just two albums.
However, the main My Bloody Valentine achievement is a radically new sound of guitars, transformed with the help of powerful reverb into a deafening sound wall. Especially worth noting their second studio record "Loveless" (1991), which is widely considered to be the standard of shoegazing and one of the best LPs of the 1990s. Hear one of the most remarkable songs taken from it - ‘When You Sleep’.
Finally, My Bloody Valentine will present their new music pieces and it will be two EPs, one of them is set to arrive this summer. The previous band’s work was their third studio album 'm b v' released in 2013 with which band had toured last time. Accordingly, My Bloody Valentine will appear in a few European concerts this year, including Robert Smith’s Meltdown Festival in London on June 23, Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, DK during June 30 - July 7 and at Bilbao BBK Live in Spain on June 12-14, before heading to the U.S. for a series of theater shows in July.
Thereafter, the run of My Bloody Valentine U.S. tour dates kicks off in Seattle at Paramount on July 17 and wrap up in New York at Hammerstein Ballroom venue on August 1. Other stops will include shows in such cities, as Oakland, Los Angeles, St. Paul, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
