A mixture of powerful confident guitar riffs, sweeping carefree solos, impeccable rhythm section, moreover, a huge amount of humor and, of course, Justin's incredible vocals have become the trademark of The Darkness.
The Darkness is a British rock band from Lowestoft, Suffolk, formed in 2000 by Justin's brothers (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Dan Hawkins (guitar, back vocal), Frankie Pullen (bass guitar, back vocals) and Ed Graham (drums, percussion). As the matter of fact, the group managed to do by their own an incredible thing - reviving a sound of classic hard rock and glam from the 70's, which was completely not fashionable for the generation that had no idea that he actually needed it. A mixture of powerful confident guitar riffs, sweeping carefree solos, impeccable rhythm section, moreover, a huge amount of humor and, of course, Justin's incredible vocals have become the trademark of The Darkness. In 2006 the group disbanded, the Hawkins brothers engaged in separate projects. However, they achieved less success, and in 2011 Justin and Dan officially announced the revival of The Darkness.
‘Pinewood Smile’ would be the fifth album of The Darkness, which is scheduled to be released on October 6. One of the tracks from this album - ‘Southern Trains’ recently was presented by the video, where the group took funny shots using SnapChat. The song itself is dedicated to Southern Trains and express all irritation and pain which injured the band and many other people.
The frontman Justin Hawkins commented about this: “This song has genuine realness in it, innit. Dan and I had to endure the Southern Trains ‘services’ during the making of this album. The only difference between a normal day on Southern Trains and a day when they’re all on strike, is that on strike day the ArseClownery is deliberate. They are utterly incapable of running a reliable service. Fact. The rest of the world is laughing at us. I hope this song goes some way towards facilitating change…”
