The Strokes lead leader Julian Casablancas with his side project The Voidz presented new studio record "Virtue" - their first work in almost four years.
Initially, the experimental rock band The Voidz were formed in 2013 under the title Julian Casablancas+The Voidz and later have shortened their name. One of the band's members to this day is the well-known Nine Inch Nails drummer Alex Karapetis.
Recently, the band pleased their fans with a new portion of fresh material among which super crazy video for the song ‘QYURRYUS’. Hear it below.
The video turned out to be no less strange than the name of the song (which, apparently, should be pronounced as curious). The video was directed by Julian. You can easily find on the screen ridiculous scenes, close-ups, references to the retro images from the 90's and etc.
The composition was included into brand-new band's second studio album 'Virtue'. The release of the long play was held on March 30. Earlier, The Voidz presented the track "Leave It In My Dream", which became the first single from the record. In addition, last year The Voidz performed two new tracks - Wink and We're Where We Were - while performing in South America.
The new album by The Voidz is a merger of powerful grunge trends of the 90's with hard and sometimes cutting rapping drums, and all this is intertwined with an electronic sound that makes music mystically screaming. At the same time, it can not be said that the music on "Virtue" is not melodic - rather, on the contrary, it's amazing how the group managed to blend such directions by concluding them into one.
The Voidz kick off their North American Tour with a sold-out show at the Fortress Festival in Fort Worth, Texas on April 28. The set of dates will run through June 30 in Burlington, Vt. when the band performs at Higher Ground. See below for all currently confirmed tour dates.
