The Norwegian neo-folk and black metal band devote themselves to Scandinavian mythology and esotericism. Wardruna turned out to be extremely popular among North American audiences, so tickets for their shows are already sold out. But no matter how strange it happened, but the tour, which has not yet started is not enough for the audience, and therefore it was decided to make repeated performances in some cities.
Fans' love is boundless if they are ready to go twice to the concert, and for sure we have nothing to wonder about because the energy of Scandinavian mythology is strong enough and extraordinary. Due to the fact that all tickets were sold-out for a concert in Montreal Wardruna decided to give there a second date for the tour. In addition to this, fans in Washington, DC at The Corona will meet musicians twice.
Next, the worshipers of the ancient runes will visit Toronto twice at The Danforth Music Hall. Tickets will be on sale this Friday at 10 am. Further, there are plans to visit such cities as New York and Boston. All dates are scheduled for the beginning of February 2018.
It is also worth mentioning that Einar Selvik is actively engaged in his solo career and is scheduled to release an album, called Snake Pit Poetry, which is also coming this Friday. At the same time, excerpts from this patch sounded in a television show devoted to the documentary research about the Vikings. Singer Hilda Örvarsdottir, who had previously collaborated with Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel score, also participated in the recording of this composition.
Last year the band released an album called Runaljod - Ragnarok. Watch now the music video for ‘Raido’ directed by Tuukka Koski and Koski Syväri.
The founder of Wardruna and main frontman Einar Selvik gave the following comment about the tour:
"Over the last few years we have received countless emails and comments from fans across the US and Canada requesting us to "cross the pond" and perform more in North America and now we are FINALLY able to announce our first ever tour in North America. In February 2018 we set out to do a handful concerts in the eastern US and Canada. We hope that many people will come and support us as well as spread the word and we hope that this is only the first of many American tours in the time to come!"
