The Most Catchy Tattoos of the Musicians

Tattoos have always been a hot topic in western society. Many people believe that it is a way of expressing themselves through art and a medium in which they can individualize themselves from the world. Others see it as completely taboo for many reasons. One of the most common arguments against tattoos is that they are forever. We constantly hear the line; it may look good now but twenty years down the line you’ll regret it. Another one is that it doesn’t look professional. Many employers will choose a person who isn’t tattooed over another that is because of how they believe it will reflect their company and their consumers.

Fortunately, all over the world tattoos seem to be much more common and the normalization of it is reaching the corporate world although slowly. Thankfully, a world where tattoos seem to be praised is the music industry. In this article we look at some of the best musician’s tattoos.

Travis Barker of Blink 182 has some of the most expressive body ink you’ll ever see, in fact almost his whole body is covered. On his back reads the word hope which at the time was influenced by a Descendant’s song. It was also a nod and reminder to himself of positivity after the death of his mother. He also has a very large boom box tattooed across his stomach. The ink is in homage to his love for music and a reminder of his past life as a break dancer.

Next is Rihanna. Her tattoo addictions have been well documented in the media. In 2012 she got a massive tattoo right below her chest of the Egyptian goddess Isis in remembrance of her grandmother. Another popular tattoo that she has is a Maori tribal design that covers the back of her right hand.

Anthony Kiedis, a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers has a Haida Thunderbird that takes up most of his back. The late Brad Nowell of sublime may have passed away but the ink of the bands self-titled album will live on.

Another member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers with an amazing tattoo is Flea. He has a Triskell on his chest which is said to symbolize the the three stages of man: Birth, Death and Eternity.

Lastly is Billie Joe Armstrong. The lead singer of the band Green Day may have one of the most sentimental tattoos for a rock star. He sports a film strip of caricatures of the members of his band on his forearm. Those are some of the best tattoos that musicians have.
