Lauryn Hill is about to heat up again. R&B legend is setting off U.S. Tour as a 20th-anniversary celebration of 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' LP.
The singer who launched a neo-soul wave 20 years ago with its naked emotions and vintage 60s-sound, a woman of incredible talent and a completely unpredictable disposition, constantly in disagreement with the outside world, demanding to call her any different than Miss Loreen Hill will again raise auditory mood this year.
The owner of eight Grammy awards Ms. Lauryn made her debut as a member of hip-hop band The Fugees when she was only 19 years old. With such big hits as 'Killing Me Softly' and 'No Woman, No Cry', their second album 'The Score' sold over 17 million copies in 1996, and Rolling Stone included it on its list of 500 best studio albums of all time.
'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' became singer’s first solo studio record issued in August 1998, and became an integral part of that time. One of the Lauryn’s managers Jayson Jackson described the recording as follows: "All these songs were already inside her. She came into the studio and just poured them out of herself."
Now - 20 years later - Lauryn Hill is incredibly excited to embark on her headlining anniversary tour in support of ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’. The 21-date tour will kick off in Virginia Beach on July 5 and will conclude in Mountain View on September 20. She’ll also play venues in Boston, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Miami, Jacksonville, Nashville, Las Vegas, San Diego, Vancouver, Mountain View and more. Get a look at the full itinerary below.
